Our Mission

This site is to document all types of old log structures. We bought a log cabin in Bethlehem Pennsylvania in 1998. The exterior was covered in wood siding and then aluminum siding. The interior looks more original. We spent many hours researching its history and found the earlist mention of it on a deed from 1790. It might have been a squatters cabin which was not mentioned in the previous deed which was 100's of acres. We've enjoyed working on it and have tried to keep it as original as possible.

We hope to document as many structures as possible and hope to increase awareness of then to aid in their preservation. Some structures are only noticed when they are being demolished. There are forums to discuss regional issues, maintenance, furnishing and other subjects.
